What is the distance between the cradles?

The distance between the cradles on the Hollywood Racks Traveler 4 Bike Carrier # HR8500 is 6". I spoke with my contact at Hollywood Racks and they suggested if you need to adjust them you can use a little bit of warm soapy water to slide the cradle on the arm. Once the water dries they will stay in place.
