Can 2-1/2" to 2" Adapter be Used for the Rocky Mounts Backstage on a 2019 Ram 2500
Question:
Hi, I have a 2019 ram 2500 with a 2.5 inch hitch. The backstage fits a 2 inch hitch. With the reducer supplied by Ram that turns my hitch into a 2 inch will this rack fit? Do you have a rack option that holds 4 bikes and swings away? 2 of the bikes would be kids bikes. Thanks

Technically yes, you can use an adapter to carry your RockyMounts BackStage # RKY10002 with the 2-1/2" receiver on your 2019 Ram 2500. The problem you're going to run into is that pretty much all bike rack manufacturers say not to use an adapter that they didn't make, otherwise it will void their warranty.
If you're going to use an adapter I recommend the Hollywood Racks Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve # HRHA-2 because it uses a weld mount and some screws to really help stabilize the accessory.
I would use just a regular bike rack like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HR1400Z because it was designed for use with this adapter and it does make me a little nervous thinking about using an adapter for the swing-away adapter, for a 4-bike rack. That just seems to have too many moving parts for me to feel good about it.
