Backing Vehicle With Weight Distribution Hitch Installed

I see that some hitches say you can back up and other dont mention that. I am looking at the Curt 17341. I dont see mention of being able to back up. I was wondering if you could advise on this if I can. Thanks

Certain weight distribution systems, especially those that use a friction sway unit like # 83660 would need to be disengaged or removed before backing the trailer, as the friction unit can be irreparably damaged if the trailer should jackknife.
This isnt' the case with a typical chain suspended weight distribution system like the # C17341 you'd looked at, but it is highly recommended that the bars be removed before doing any maneuvering at a sharp angle that could lead to a jackknife.
