Drum Replacement For 3,500 lb Axle on 1966 Beemer Travel Trailer
Question:
Hello, I want to replace both drums on a 1966 Beemer single axle travel trailer. The wheel bolt pattern is 5x4 1/2 with 10inch brakes and 14inch tires. My question is which drums to order, EZ lube, Dexter or #84 spindles. Thanks

E-Z Lube spindles are originally a Dexter axles, but that doesn't mean they are the only manufacturer now or the only fit. The good news is the size of your axle is easy to discern with the 10 inch brakes and 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. I recommend you use the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 3.5K E-Z Lube Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 - Pre-Greased # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K which will work well with your trailer axle. It comes with a standard grease cap as well as the EZ lube grease cap, but the age of your trailer will typically use the standard cap.
