Is It Okay To Use an Odd Sized Wheel/Tire as Emergency Spare
Question:
I have two boat trailers. One has 13 inch wheels the other has 14 inch. I have a 14 inch wheel spare. Can I use the 14 inch wheel for an emergency spare on the 13 inch wheel trailer? Understand it would be for only a short distance, no more than 5 miles. Thanks

Ideally, you'd want the spare to be the same size tire and wheel. Using a wheel one inch in diameter larger than the other will cause all sorts of problems with the way the trailer handles, from sway to uneven tire wear.
If we're talking less than a couple of miles at slow speeds it should be okay but if I'd recommend obtaining a spare with the same wheel/tire size as the other as soon as possible.
