C51180 is the auxiliary cable needed?

Question:

I own a 2017 Ford Escape Titanium, just purchased and installed the Class 3 hitch from you guys with the light wiring and a 4 to 7 adapter I have not connected the blue and yellow wires to anything Im interested in the Echo since I dont want to do any more wiring. I would like to use a back up light and or backup alarm If I connect the yellow wire as a back up light/alarm, will that mess the ECHO Brake Controller

You will be in good shape. The Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 doesn't care whether or not the reverse wire is hooked up. It will work with any 7-Way plug that has the 12 volt power wire and the basic trailer functions like stop/turn/tailights/ground hooked up.
