Can I Open a 2017 Acura MDX Sunroof With Roof Rack

Question:

The installation instructions for TH7602-7603 for Acura MDX 2017 advance says “Do not open, vent or retract the sunroof/moonroof/glass roof when rack is installed. Does that mean I can not use the sunroof. Please explain in more detail for. Thank you in advance

The Thule AeroBlade Edge Roof Rack System # TH7602-TH7603 # THKIT3132 is a fit for your 2017 Acura MDX. Since this is such a low-profile design the sunroof may come into contact with the crossbars. Sometimes the bars don't have the issue but the accessory clamping around the bar is what comes into contact. If your sunroof goes into your roof when it is open, you shouldn't have an issue but if it does go on top, you might want something with a little more clearance.

The Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711420, Rapid Podium Feet # TH460R and custom Fit Kit # THKIT3132 is a great looking roof rack for your 2017 Acura MDX with flush rails. It has a lower profile look but it sits up off the roof a little more.

With either roof rack I would pick up a set of lock cores # TH450400 to keep your rack locked to your MDX
