2006 Subaru Outback Hatch Clearance with Thule Force XT

Will I be able to open the hatch of my 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon with a Thule Force XT on top?

To determine if the hatch on your Outback will open without hitting the Thule Force XT you referenced, part # TH6358B, open the hatch then measure rearward from the center of the front crossbar. It would help to adjust the front crossbar as far forward as possible if it can move. The Force XT requires 51-1/8 inches of clearance to fit. You will also want to keep in mind that this cargo box requires at least 23-5/8 inches between the crossbars (measured center to center).

If you do not have crossbars, you will need to install them. I would recommend the Thule Complete Evo Raised Rail Kit which consists of, parts # TH710401 and # TH712200.
