Compatibility of 4 Bike Platform Rack for 2 Bike Option on 1-1/4 Inch Class II Receiver

Question:

Greetings, On this rack, once you remove the back 2 bike carrier section, can that section fit onto a 1 1/4 hitch on a another vehicle? I saw a Swagman a while back that did this but cant find it now. Thanks for any help!

The Swagman Quad 2+2 2-Bike and 4-Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Black # S64FR is not directly compatible with a 1-1/4 inch receiver. We do not have a 4 bike option that allows for that 1-1/4 receiver without modification for the 2 bike rack addition or base. Your best option to use 2 bikes on a Class II hitch is to use a hitch expander like # HT5R which will reduce the tongue weight of your hitch by 50% so your bike rack and loaded bikes will need weigh less than that reduced capacity.
