Recommended Trailer Hitch for International 4700

Question:

I’m looking for a good receiver hitch and having trouble searching for it as the search tool seems limited when it tries to match my specific truck to a specific hitch. My truck is a 2000 IH 4700 which is very tall, so I’m looking for a class 4 or 5 receiver hitch, but would like it to extend low enough for me to be able to tow “standard” trailers without needing to use a long receiver. For mounting, I can bolt, weld, or both. A DOT integrated bumper would also be nice, but not necessary. Thanks!

The best trailer hitch option we would have for an International 4700 is the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 41990-16. This hitch would indeed need to be either bolts or welded to the frame. The long brackets would then be able to get you the desired receiver tube height to tow standard trailers.
