Recommended Weight Distribution System for 2016 Honda Odyssey With Tongue Mounted Bike Rack

Question:

2016 Odyssey. have 3500 lb hitch. trailer weighs 1600 lbs, TW 150. Id like to rack two bikes at the front, and the rear of the van holds most of the stuff, so tongue weight could reach near the 350 lb max. Do I need a weight distribution hitch with sway control at all? could I manage without if I didnt put stuff at the back of the van.

For your trailer, It sounds like you can use the Blue Ox Weight Distribution System with Shank - Round Bar - 10,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # BLU45FR you asked about and it comes with sway control included.

For a bike rack, I recommend the Jack-It 2 Bike Rack for A-Frame Trailers - 22-1/2" Jack Clearance # LC429756. This bike rack system will add 25 lbs plus the weight of the bikes you load to your tongue weight. You will need your total tongue weight including the loaded trailer tongue weight, bike rack and bikes, and any cargo behind the rear axle of your Odyssey.

Depending on your trailer hitch, you may have more weight capacity when using a weight distribution system. If not, you will need that total tongue weight to be under or at the 350 lbs maximum.
