Will the 5th Airborne Fifth Wheel Air Ride Coupler for Lippert 1621 Increase Bedside Clearance

Question:

Good Morning, I currently have a LIPP1621 pin ox on my Arctic Fox and want to replace it with an airborne box. What I am concerned about it the bed to trailer clearance. I currently have about 4-5 inches which in my mind is not enough. In fact when backing into my driveway I end up with about 1/4inch clearance. The two pin boxes shown for my application are the # 5AB-E1621-610 or # 5AB-E1621-16K. I need to know the dimension from the top set of holes to the bottom of the pin see attached image, my current dimension is 9 1/2”. Thank you

The 5th Airborne Premium Fifth Wheel Air Ride Coupler part # RP78FR is designed to replace a Lippert 1621 Pin Box. This is because both the mounting pattern is the same as well as the overall dimensions of the pin box. If you have issues with bedside clearance (4-6" recommended) you'd need to adjust the pin box, hitch and or trailer but swapping pin boxes won't fix this.

Unfortunately, the dimensions you requested are not available as the distance is not fixed and will vary based on how much air is in the airbag and how much weight is on it. I would not be able to give an exact dimension but what I can tell you is that is will be very similar if not the same as the pin box you have now.
