Can Weight Distribution and Suspension Enhancement be Used with 2008 Toyota Highlander

Question:

I have a 2008 Highlander Limited AWD in great shape, rated for 5000 lb with 500 lb hitch weight. Using Husky Centerline WDH and installed new high-end MacPherson shocks. Towing Gulfstream Vista Cruiser 19BFD 3400 lb empty but with 480 lb hitch weight didn’t realize the hitch weight was that high when I bought in - close to 14 of empty weight, and that before the bikes or installed. Obviously I pack as much as possible at the rear of the trailer. I get a lot of rear ended sag even with WDH likely because of the tongue weight. I’m wondering if the CS-1145R’s would help? I read elsewhere in the QandA that not recommended for trailering at least if not instead of WDH, but wondering if it might help or if it would be recommended against using in conjunction with WDH. Next option would be to change tow vehicles for one with higher tongue weight...

Expert Reply:

Suspension enhancement can be used with your weight distribution and will help with rear end sag. So the # CSS-1145R that fits your 2008 Toyota Highlander would help. You'll need to set your weight distribution up again.
