In order to use the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar part # RM-501 on a 2005 Jeep Wrangler you'll need to use the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit part # RM-521424-4. In regards to the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System part # SM99251, this is indeed the best option as it's the simplest and easiest to install. It is a favorite among installers like myself. Please note, you also need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-88400.
