Is a Transmission Cooler Needed for Towing With a 2012 Toyota RAV4
Question:
we have a 2012 toyota rav 4 limited with a 3.5l v6. we are looking into a camper and was curious if we need a transmission cooler to tow it? our top weight is 3500 pounds and the camper is 3280 pounds.

It would indeed be a good idea to install a transmission cooler on a 2012 Toyota RAV4 as this will help prolong the life of the transmission which can be shortened when towing due to the increased strain. I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13503 which is both cost effective and relatively easy to install.
