Replacement Leaf Spring for 3500-lbs Axle on 2017 Starcraft Satellite 17RB

Question:

I have a 2017 Starcraft Satellite 17RB Extreme camper trailer. Original Dexter axle rated at 3500 lbs the leaf springs have taken on a slight W shape they are hung down over the axle vs under. The weight capacity of trailer is 3790 lbs. Fully loaded we have weighed it at 4040 lbs. Would that added 250 lbs cause the leaf springs to elongate?

Under normal loads, a spring like the # e54sr is going to stretch out a bit and become longer than they would when in good working condition. You should be careful not to exceed the GVWR of your trailer. I'll also add that when springs are stretched out like this, the measurement you're going to get is going to be about 1/2" longer than the springs that you'll need to replace them; the biggest factor you'll want to consider is the axle capacity, when choosing replacement springs.

There are a few different lengths of springs that you may be able to use on your 2017 Starcraft Satellite 17RB Extreme trailer, like the # e54sr, which are 25-1/8" long.

I've added a link below to our selection of leaf springs for you to check out.
