Question:
The highlander comes with the towing package and has the 7 pin connector installed. Is the Highlander high enough to tow this trailer? If not what accessories are needed?

You'll need to determine the towing capacity and tongue weight capacity of your vehicle and then compare it to the specs of that trailer. As long as the trailer's GVWR and tongue weight are below the capacity of your 2012 Toyota Highlander, you can tow the trailer. From what I was able to find online, the 2012 Toyota Highlander's towing capacity is between 1500-lbs and 2000-lbs, but I do recommend confirming that within your vehicle's owners manual.
If the trailer has brakes, you will need a brake controller in order to operate the trailer brakes. For that I recommend using the Curt Echo Mobile # C51180 because it's easy to install and use. This controller is operated by a smartphone with iOS 8.0 or newer or Android 4.4 or newer. I've linked a review video of this controller for you to have a look at.
To round out your towing package, you'll need a ball mount and hitch ball; I recommend using the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # EBMK2216 which comes with 2" and 2-5/16" hitch balls, a ball mount, hitch pin, clip and carrying bag for storage.
