Is Pulled Fuses On a 2019 Chevy Sonic Required With Battery Charge Line

Question:

2019 Sonic Sedan 1.4 L Turbo with Smart key If there is charge line from the motor home to the towed car battery to maintain the charge on the towed battery while towing, is it still necessary to pull all of the four fuses specified in the owners manual ? It seems the reason for pulling fuses is to prevent battery drain while towed Ignition is in ACC mode but engine not running. Perhaps it is more complicated than that, but I don’t know how to find out. Any wisdom on the subject. ?? Thanks

There are a few concerns with pulling fuses, battery drain being one. I don't have specifics for any one vehicle but there are instances where pulling the fuses are required because it disables components which can be damaged or cause damaged to the vehicle while in tow mode if not first disabled. There is also the issue that the rate for charge provided by the motorhome will not offset the loss of charge from the fused accessories.

For the charge line, you'll need the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-156-25 and then to disable the fuses you can use the Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass part # RM76511 (2) and part # RM76512.
