Hitch and 4 Bike Rack Recommendation for 2018 Honda Odyssey
Question:
I have a 2018 Honda Odyssey. Is this the correct item I need to transport 4 bikes across country? Thule Hitching Post Pro - Folding Tilting 4 Bike Rack w Anti-Sway - 1-1/4 and 2 Hitches - TH934XTR I dont have a hitch for the van yet. Is there a particular kind that I need? Thank you

The Thule Hitching Post Pro, part # TH934XTR would be an ideal choice for safely and securely carrying 4 bikes. The rack features sturdy anti-sway cradles to prevent the bikes from swinging back and forth while traveling. An anti-rattle hitch pin is included, but you might consider a locking version that's available separately as part # THSTL2. The # TH538XT cable lock also might be a good idea.
For women's bikes with step-through frames, a frame adapter bar like # 64005 is recommended. A frame adapter bar spans the distance between the seat post and the handlebar gooseneck, providing a level attachment point for the bike rack.
For a hitch, I'd recommend the 2 inch etrailer # e98855 class III hitch. The bike rack is also compatible with 1-1/4 inch receivers, but I recommend the 2 inch Class III because there's a much better selection of hitch mounted accessories like cargo carriers available for them.
I've linked to a product demonstration video for the bike rack as well as an install video for the hitch.
