Ground Clearance with a Front Mount Trailer Hitch Installed on a 1994 Dodge Ram 2500

Question:

1994 2500 ram cummins2 wheel drive concerned as to how far from bumper this unit runs. concerned it will hang down too low, become a pain, no clearance from ground. can I drill new holes and make it go right up to the bumper. I have already removed the plastic that hung below the bumper.

Once installed the receiver on front mount trailer hitch # 31604 will be directly below the front bumper on your 1994 Dodge Ram. You cannot modify the hitch to fit in an alternate location because that can compromise the structural integrity of the hitch and it will void the warranty.

Since you have already removed the plastic fascia below the hitch, you can measure from the bottom of the bumper down about 2-1/2 inches. This is the approximate location of the bottom of the receiver once the hitch is installed. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view.
