Comparing 1,500 lb CargoGlide to 2,200 lb CargoGlide for 2019 Ford F-350 8 Foot Bed

Question:

What are the differences between the cg1500xl and the cg2200xl? Why is the smaller rated product more expensive than the 2200? I notice that the 1500 has 34 bearings vs 20 for the 2200... why is this significant?

You have already pointed out the differences with the number of bearings and the other difference is capacity rating. The CargoGlide 1500XL Sliding Tray for Trucks - Heavy Duty - 1,500 lbs - Steel Frame - 8" Rail # CG1500XL-9548 has 36 bearings with different ratings for the 4 types used and a total load capacity of 57,158 lbs with 1,500 lb real capacity on the frame.. The CargoGlide 2200XL Sliding Tray for Trucks - 2,200 lbs - Steel Frame - 8" Rail # CG2200XL-9548 has 22 bearings with 3 types used and has a total capacity rating of 56,128 lbs for the bearings with 2,200 lb real weight capacity on the frame.

The model you asked from was for GM trucks and not your 2019 Ford F-350 which is what is represented in the paragraph above. The number of bearings, style, and load capacity are the differences with each being custom made for your vehicle. Price represents the manufacturer cost as well as many other components like supply and demand.
