Is It Normal to Hear Air Escaping While Installing Wheel Master Valve Extenders?
Question:
Difficulty installing the 180 degree valve extender on a 2019 Ford 550 chassis on a Thor Omni RV. I needed to use a small wrench to install the extenders, but then heard air coming out of the valve stem. I did not know if this was normal and gave up. Is it a matter of letting some air escape to get the extender on tight?

I reached out to my contact at Wheel Masters about the the air you heard escaping during your installation of the 180 Degree Bend Tire Pressure Valve Extenders # WM8029180.
My contact confirmed that it is normal to hear some air escaping while you are still tightening down the valve extenders. They recommend installing the extender with a spray bottle full of soapy water handy. Once the extenders have been tightened all the way, spray soapy water on the attachment point to make sure there isn't still air escaping. If there is you will see new bubbles forming in the soap. If there are no new bubbles then you're good to go.
