Are Straps of Thule Hitching Post Bike Rack A High Theft Item
Question:
Should I expect to remove the bike straps when I an leaving the rack on the vehicle? Are they easily removed so then they are easily stolen when there are no bikes attached to it? Also, what type of lock do you recommend for the bikes on the rack? I will be purchasing a bolt that locks for when I am attaching the rack to my SUV. My vehicle is a Honda CR-V 2017. I have a 2inch hitch.

The frame cradle straps of the Thule Hitching Post Pro part # TH934XTR are not exactly high theft items so you don't have to worry about taking them off to prevent theft. They also aren't super easy to get off. Basically everyone leaves them on all the time without issue. To lock this rack to your hitch you'd want the part # THSTL2 and then if you wanted to lock the bikes to your rack you'd want the part # TH538XT for a cable lock.
