Does the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack Require An Adapter Bar

Question:

I just purchased a hitch from eTrailers receiving it on the 17th and looking at the Swagman Chinook 2 for 2 bike transport. I have a Saris Bike Beam for my wife’s bike. Do I assume that I need to use the bike beam for this bike rack and will this beam properly fit to the secure hook?

The Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack part # S64683 will work on most women's and kid's bikes without needing to use any sort of adapter bar. That said, there are some step-through bikes which really don't have any sort of horizontal top tube at all to attach to so in this case the adapter bar would be needed. If one was needed, the Saris Bike Beam Bike Frame Adapter Bar part # SA3040 will work.
