Replacement Landing Gear Motor for 1-065-041012

Question:

Having trouble with front landing gear motor 1-065-041012-1, speed 7140 RPM, gear box part no #125340. The motor has a very hard time raising the camper while on the ground for hookup alignment and dismounting from my pickups gooseneck hitch. Blows fuses left and right under the load of the camper. When the camper load is on the pickup hitch and not the landing gear, the gear will extend and retract all day long without issue. This unit is mounted in a 2011 Heartland Greystone 33QS. The camper weighs in at 11,250lbs. Specs on the original motor and a Stromberg LG-1 seem a little light duty for a 11K pound camper. Would you recommend the LG-1 as the best replacement for the original motor?

The correct replacement motor would be the Lippert # LC141893 which is also a 7140 rpm motor. If you want to swap out the gearbox as well, use part # LG-179015.

I'd also suggest trying to manually operate the legs to make sure they're not bound up.

Keep in mind, the motor and landing gear only need to lift the pin weight of the trailer, not the entire weight. Much of the weight will be supported on the trailer's back axle(s). The motor's 5000 lb capacity is more than enough to handle the pin weight of your 11,250 lb trailer.
