Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for Use Behind a Class C Motor Home

Question:

Is there any reason why the 2 bike doubledown would not be good for a small mini C class RV. I would not need the tilt feature but the fold down would be useful to keep the length of the RV as short as possible when not in use. I have a 2inch hitch.

The very features that you mentioned as being beneficial are the same ones that prevent the RidgeBack, # Y02457, from being used behind an RV or trailer. The folding and tilting features are considered a point of possible failure and because on an RV the rear of the vehicle is further from the rear axle than on passenger vehicles, there is more stress on the rack when going over bumps and this extra stress can damage the rack and bikes if there is a failure.

Only certain bike racks can be used behind an RV or trailer and I have included a link to them for you. I would go with the Swagman XP, # S64940. The single arm and rotating cradles make it compatible with many styles of bikes. I have included a link to the isntructions for it for you.
