Hitch Pin Hole to Upright Dimension of Yakima 2 Bike Rack # Y02457
Question:
To work around my truck camper overhang I will need to add a 2 foot receiver hitch extension, and perhaps a riser adapter for height as well. So Ill have to do some measurements on my rig. My question to you is: how long is the receiver shaft for this Reese rack? Length from the rear edge of the riser pipe to the hitch pin hole would be best for me, but Id be happy with any info you can provide on the shaft and rack dimensions. Thanks, you guys are the kings/queens of online procurement.

For the Yakima RidgeBack 2 Bike Rack Item # Y02457, the distance from the hitch pin hole to the upright pole is 9-1/2 inches.
We offer a few hitch extenders, which you can see by clicking on the link I provided. Keep in mind that using an extension of any kind will lower the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by half. For instance, if your hitch has a 400 lb tongue weight capacity, using the adapter will lower that to 200 lbs. This will mean that the rack and the bikes placed on it can weigh no more than 200 lbs. This is dictated by the hitch manufacturers, because of the additional leverage placed upon the receiver the further away the load gets from the rear of the vehicle.
I hope this helps. If I can help with anything else, please let me know.
