Ball Mount Recommendation for a Factory Trailer Hitch on a 2011 Toyota Sienna
Question:
We had a factory installed hitch package installed on our 2011 Toyota Sienna LE but we are having a hard time finding a hitch ball that extends out far enough not to damage the bumper. Will this work? How far out does it come? I am trying to pull a small pop up camper.

On hitches that we have installed on a 2011 Toyota Sienna, we have found that the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole straight back to clear the rear bumper measured approximately 5-1/4 inches. I do not know what the factory installed hitch measurement is, so you will want to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole back to the distance required to clear the rear bumper.
The Curt Euro-Style ball mount, # C45572, measures 7-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the 2 inch ball. This ball mount can only be used in the rise position. To measure for the correct rise or drop you may need, I have included a link to an FAQ article that will explain the measuring process.
If the hitch is a Class I or II with a 1-1/4 inch receiver, you will need to use the ball mount specified by the hitch manufacturer unless they state you can use any one that will fit. I have included a link to our ball mount main page once you know the rise or drop you need and the distance required to clear the rear bumper.
