Roof Rack for 2004 Chevy Suburban Z71 to Mount Rhino Rack Batwing
Question:
Hello, Im trying to figure out how I can mount a Rhino Rack Batwing Compact Drivers Side to the factory installed roof rack on a 2004 Chevy Suburban Z71. I have attached pictures of the cross bars on the roof rack. They are shaped like aeroblade bars and there is a channel on the bottom. We currently have a Thule XT Motion XL cargo carrier mounted, which well be removing to mount the awning. Is there an awning adapter/accessory that will fit the current roof rack so we dont have to get more roof rack parts? Im also wondering if I could possibly change the orientation of the cross bars and flip them over so that the channel faces up and can be used.

To install the Rhino Rack Batwing part # RR33300 on your 2004 Chevy Suburban you will have to install a roof rack that has top channels in it as there isn't a different way. There wouldn't be a way to flip your current bars upside down either as the bottom channel is how it attaches to the feet of your rack.
The easiest and least expensive option would be the Malone rack part # MPG216 which has the needed channel and fits your vehicle.
