The best option to carry your kayak with your 2018 Ford F-150 5-1/2 foot bed would be with the Rhino Rack roof rack and upright kit part numbers # RRVA150S, # RRRLKVAH, # RTL002, and # DK427H as this will give you bars you can mount the kayak further forward than a truck bed ladder rack. For a rack to install on the front bar you could then use the Yakima carrier # Y08083 and you'd be set.
