Compatibility of Thule Trunk Mounted Bike Rack on 2016 Subaru Forester Electric Opening Hatch
Question:
My 2016 Subaru Forrester has the electronic opening trunk. Will the Thule 2 bike carrier work? It say in the product description non-electric opening trunk.

The Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount # TH910XT will work when using the manual trunk opening. The electronic opener has a sensor that causes it to automatically close when it senses any resistance and the weight of the carrier is enough to cause that sensor to automatically close the trunk when using that function. The manufacturer will tell you to remove the bike rack anytime you open the hatch, because they can't take any liability for a hatch closing on your head. It isn't typically an issue with most hatches when using the manual lift, but I can't promise anything only state it normally works fine when manually opening your hatch.
