Compatibility of Swagman 3 Bike Hitch Mounted Rack With 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
Question:
After reading some reviews I am concerned that I will have trouble fitting three33 llbs each mountain bikes on the Swagman 3 bike rack for a hitch. What do you think will a 3 work or would a 4 bike rack be better? I dont want the loading to be a hassle. I have a RAV4 hybrid 2019 and plan on getting a hitch installed. Appreciate your help because I am in new territory.

The Swagman Trailhead 3 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # S63365 is rated for bikes up to 35 lbs each so weight won't be an issue. You will simply need to alternate the direction each bike is facing to allow for the handlebar spacing and then I recommend using the Softride Soft Hook-and-Loop Tie Downs for Bike Racks # SR54FR to keep your wheels and handlebars straight. If you have any step-thru or alternative bike frames you may also want to consider the bike adapter bar # 64005 to give you level transport. You don't need a 4 bike rack unless you want to carry an additional bike.
I also recommend using the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable for Swagman Bike Racks w/ 1-1/4" & Combo Shanks - 7' # S64031 to secure your bike rack and your bikes.
For the hitch on your RAV4 Hybrid, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # DT82QR. This will give you a hitch compatible with many accessories and the strongest hitch available from our manufacturers for your vehicle go give additional peace of mind while still having a clean look.
