Best Inexpensive Kayak Rack Recommendation for 2018 Hyundai Tucson
Question:
Hi. My wife has a 2018 Hyundai Tuscan. The car has the roof rack rails but no cross member bars. I am looking for an inexpensive option to transport a lightweight kayak, possibly two. Does this system come will all the parts I will need to mount it to the car? I see that this does not lock. Is there a locking version? Thanks!

Expert Reply:
The best bang-for-your-buck kayak carrier for a vehicle roof that does not have crossbars is the Malone Foam Kayak carrier part # MPG152 which can fit on naked roofs. Any other option would require a set of crossbars land the price will go up considerably. There isn't a way to lock this rack though and it's not intended for extended highway use.
