Will the Thule Passage 2 Trunk mount Bike Rack Fit a 2012 Honda Insight

Question:

Will this rack work for a 2012 Honda Insight? I see posts about not hooking to glass or plastic trim and so Im worried it wont hook to the hatchback.

Thule does list the Passage 2 trunk mount rack, # TH901XT, as a fit for your 2012 Honda Insight. On the installation notes for your vehicle, Thule states:

Place top clips in the gap at the front edge of the top of the trunk, hatch or door.
Place lower clips in the bottom edge of trunk or hatch.
Caution: Rear wiper can not be used when carrier is mounted.
Lower arm of carrier will rest in the bottom of the license plate well.

My personal opinion is that it will work, just make sure that the heaviest bike is closest to the vehicle and you do not exceed the 70 pound limit of the rack. I have included some informational links on this rack for you.

If you will be carrying womens, childrens, or alternative frame bikes I recommend using the bike adapter bar, # TH982XT, for greater ground clearance and to carry the bikes more level. I have linked a video that shows how the adpater works.
