Would Edge Programmer # EP59YR Cause Engine to Run Lean and Fail in Ford F-150

Question:

I have the 15051 tuner with a AFE cai on my 2008 f150. Both have been on my truck since it was bran new. I never experienced anything related to running lean. 111,000 miles later the engine failed. Timing chain issues. Crank shaft moving. Truck has a new engine. Do you think the tuner and cai combination has anything to do with the engine failing? I also have a banks monster exhaust. Truck was very well maintained.

The only way the programmer could have caused an issue is if you had a tune that required a higher fuel octane like 91 and you were running a lower octane fuel like 87 or 89. Aside from that the tunes that the Edge Gas Evolution CTS3 # EP59YR have loaded are still very safe. These are also designed to work well with the basic bolt-ons that your truck has installed as well.
