Compatibility of Derale 8000 Transmission Cooler on 2016 Ford F-150
Question:
In the description for the transmission cooler it says it fits a 2016 Ford F150 my truck has half-inch transmission lines but in the description it says 5/16 on the cooler I could see if it was maybe 3/8 to half inch but necking it down to 5/16 seems to be a bit restrictive in my mind .Am I missing something is there a half inch version for that same cooler? Thank you for your help

For your 2016 Ford F-150, the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/ NPT Inlets - Class I -Extra Efficient has 1/2 inch NPT fittings reduced to 3/8 inch barb. The Flex-a-lite Transmission Cooler - Plate and Fin - 17 Row - Barbed Fitting # FLX400117 also has the 3/8 inch barb fittings and is a great option.
Most options have the 11/32 inch barb inlets like the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class III - Efficient # D13503 or Class IV # D13504 you referenced. Both are confirmed to fit your truck. This cooler (although more pressure restrictive at the barbs) allows for more cooling surface which will in turn help your transmission remain cooler.
