Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller on 1992 Ford E-350 with 4-Way
Question:
I would like to install a relatively inexpensive brake controller in my 1992 Ford E350 diesel Econoline van. I am confident that I can find a controller that will meet my needs, but I am having difficulty figuring out what harness to buy. i saw that the Tekonsha 3035-P supposedly fits my van but I cant find a plug-in on the van. Right now, I have a 4-wire system installed. Thanks,

Since your 1992 Ford E-350 has a factory 4-way connector what you'd need to install a brake controller is the # ETBC7 which plugs into the 4-way you have now and gives you a 7-way and all of the needed wiring and connectors to install a brake controller. The 3035-P that you have will not fit and can't be used.
The best value controller is the Tekonsha BRAKE-EVN # TK63VR which is on the lower end price-wise but functionally and quality-wise is as good as the more expensive options. It's proportional which means it will sense how hard you are applying the vehicle brakes and puts a proportional amount of braking on the trailer brakes.
