Flex Air Pin Box Suspension Enhancement and Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizer for 5th Wheel
Question:
Pinbox vs Truck Airbags and Adding Shocks to Trailer Suspension and Stronger Springs Equalizer: Is seems to me that my Tow Vehicle Airbags properly pressurized and my trucks heavy duty rear shocks should accomplish anything that can be structurally done by the Air Ride Pinbox. The slight chucking and bobbing of the fifth wheel could be better helped by adding shocks to the trailer suspension and perhaps upgrading to a heavier duty equalizer from the current Grande Design OEM equalizer. What am I missing in my rationale? Thank you for etrailers great advice and service.

Adding Suspension enhancement to the trailer axles and air bags to the truck are excellent options and will absolutely help with the ride of your truck and trailer together. The benefit of the air ride pin box # LC328492 has the air bag and shock that not only soften the vertical suspension but also the chucking which is the front and back movement of the trailer.
You don't want to have an air pin box and air suspension on your truck because the systems can actually diminish each other by working against each other for stability. You can have the suspension enhancement on your trailer and at the pin box without issue and it would work well. For the best ride pulling your 5th wheel I'd use the air ride pin box and the trailer equalizer enhancement # K71-652-00.
