Why Axles Cannot Be Rotated when Installing a Axle Over-Under Kit

Question:

Can I flip my axle when I put my springs on top of axle or will the axle crown affect that?

In order to properly move your axle below your leaf springs you will not flip the axle. The reason for this is because there is a bow to the axle that if was reversed would give you terrible wheel alignment.

What you would need to do is install the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-385-00 you referenced. This allows you to keep your axles installed correctly while allowing them to be under your leaf springs.

You will need to have new spring seats welded to the top of the axle. Check out the picture I attached.

What is the correct way the bow of the axel should be when installing the axel so the springs are on top of the axel?

The bow should face the same way as it did with the original suspension. You are not flipping the axle, rather moving the mounting hardware to the top of the axle. The bow should still sit like it did when the trailer was built.
