To add a third brake light signal to a canopy/camper shell is to simply splice into the brake light signal behind your tail light housing. Simply identify the brake light bulb and the wires coming out of it. One will become hot or have a signal only when the brake pedal is pressed. You can do this with a test light like the PTW2992.
Once identified splice a length of 16 gauge wire part # 16-1-1 into it with a heat shrink connector part # DW05744-5 and run it up to the light you're looking to illuminate.
