The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 will work with your 2018 Jeep JK Wrangler. If you have the factory tow package then you may need to use the kit # 5506 and route to the battery for power. If you don't have the factory tow package then you need the wiring kits # 118416 and # ETBC7 and the bracket # 18136 to complete your setup.
If you have found loose wires under your driver side dash then you will want to check for labels or use a circuit tester # PTW2979 to determine which wire carries which function. If you are adding all the wiring then the only wire you'll be looking for is the cold side of the stop light switch which, as you stated, will only get hot with the brake pedal pressed down. I'm not sure what color wire this will be so you may need to do some searching to figure this one out.
