Does Active Calibration of Tow Pro Elite Occur if No Trailer is Connected

Question:

I installed this unit on my 2014 4Runner with no issues. However, I do have a question about the active calibration part - I have read that in order for the unit to calibrate with the blue and green LEDs on, a trailer has to be connected. I then read another article that said it did not need to be connected to a trailer. I have yet to connect my trailer and the only LED that comes on the unit is the glowing blue sleep modeinch when I press it. Just want to make sure Ive done everything correctly and that it will show the blue/green LEDs when I connect the trailer. Thanks.

Active calibration of the Tow Pro Elite # RED44FR occurs with or without a trailer connected. I attached a page I took from the instructions that shows the active calibration for you to check out.
