Fit of Thule Passage Trunk Mounted Bike Rack # TH910XT on 2001 Volkswagen Jetta

Question:

Will the Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier Trunk Mounted Bike Rack # TH910XT work for my 2001 VW Jetta? And if not could you please recommend a rack that would fit? Thanks!

The Thule Passage 2 Bike Rack you mentioned, part # TH910XT will indeed fit, and would work very well on your 2001 Volkswagen Jetta.

If you will be using the rack frequently, and you will be installing and removing the rack often, you might want to also consider the Thule OutWay # TH45JV. The OutWay is a more expensive rack, but its innovative attachment system allows the rack to be installed or removed in seconds, as opposed to the rather clumsy buckle and strap arrangement used by other racks including the Passage. It has locks to secure the rack to the car, and the integrated cable lock on the OutWay will secure your bikes to the rack making them less vulnerable to theft.

To carry women's bikes or bikes with sharply angled top tubes or step-through frames, using a frame adapter like part # TH982XT is recommended. The adapter spans the distance between the seat post and the handle bar gooseneck, and provides a level attachment point to the bike rack so the bike has greater ground clearance and is not carried at an angle.
