Needing 8-1/2 Inch Drop Shank for Trunnion Bar Weight Distribution System
Question:
I have a lifted Jeep and trying to get the right setup for pulling my travel trailer. I currently have a Reese weight distribution system with trunnion bars. The shank I currently have does not offer the proper I need. My receiver height- is 26 inches and my coupler height is 17.5 inches, so I need a of 8.5 inches. Will the Equilizer weight distribution shank, code #90-02-440 work for me and with my current weight distribution system? Thanks.

Expert Reply:
The deepest drop shank we offer for a 2 inch receiver is the Reese # RP3344 which would give a maximum drop of 7-5/8 inches when used with a Trunnion bar system. This will leave your trailer a bit less than an inch nose-high, which is certainly within the range of acceptability.
