Can the 15,000 Btu Furrion Chill Replacement RV Air Conditioner be Used for Carrier Air AC

Question:

I have a 2008 Damon Outlaw 3611 with 2 existing Carrier Air V 13,500BTU units that I want to replace since they do not cool when the temps are 95+ degrees outside. will the FACR15SA-BL work as a replacement? I understand that the system will need a new thermostat but will this work as my furnace is wired to the A/C units and controlled remotely. Will this fit my ducted system as well? or will I need to purchase other parts to allow fitment into the ducted system. Does the Furrion come with a wireless remote as an aftermarket option?

You definitely can use 2 of the 15,000 Btu Furrion Chill Replacement RV Air Conditioner # FR86PR in place of your Carrier Air AC units, but like you said it won't be directly compatible with your current setup. In addition to the AC units you'll also need 2 of the Multi Zone Controller # FACC12ZA-BL and Multi Zone Wall Thermostat # FR93PR to get the 2 AC units to talk to each other. This setup is also compatible with a furnace.

I'm not aware of a wireless remote option for this setup.

If you wanted something that was just plug and play for your current setup you can just use 2 of the 15,000 Btu Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Carrier Setup # ACCAR150B instead. This comes with a wire adapter that plugs right in to your current wiring so you can use the same thermostat and everything. There is nothing wrong with the Furrion setup at all but this one would be a bit easier on the install side of things.
