Would Demco Brake Actuator Be Proper Replacement for Tie Down Engineering Model 660

Question:

1. Will the Demco brake actuator item #: DM72VR be a good replacement for a Tie Down 6600 actuator on a Venture Trailer? 2. What modifications would need to be made to install it?

The Tie Down Engineering (TDE) 6600 was compatible with 3 inch channel tongues, as is the Demco # DM72VR. Functionally speaking, they'll both work exactly the same, and the bolt holes on both actuators are 3 inches apart on center so you'll be able to utilize the existing holes. The Demco calls for (2) 1/2 inch x 4-1/2 inch grade 5 bolts. Really the only difference of consequence between the two is that the TDE model has a 6600 lb capacity, while the Demco has a 7000 lb capacity. So, if your loaded trailer weight comes in under 7000 lbs, the Demco # DM72VR would work perfectly.

You shouldn't need to make any modifications.

I've linked an insatllation video for you, featuring the Demco # DM72VR brake actuator.
