Replacement 4.80-12 Trailer Tires and 4-Bolt Wheel for 1,200 lb Pop-Up Camper Trailer

Question:

Hi there. I recently purchased a 1999 Palomino pop up tent trailer and the only thing it needs badly are new tires. I think it is a Palomino Pony, from looking at old owner’s manuals online. The previous owners had 4.8-12, 4 hole tires on this pop up. I am concerned because everything I’m reading states that these tires should not hold over 780-900 lbs. Looking at the specs of the trailer, it is around 1210 lbs dry weight. I am having a hard time finding the correct tires that are 4 hole for this model of tent trailer. What would your suggestion be? I need 3 tires total 2 for the trailer and 1 spare. Thanks in advance for the help!

Thank you for the specs, and I can say definitively we do have the exact wheels and tires you need. Your concerns are definitely understandable, but when it comes to trailer tires, what matters is the combined capacity of the tires. So as long as your two tires have a combined capacity exceeding the weight of your trailer you are fine!

You mentioned you had a 4 on 4" bolt pattern, so for your single-axle pop-up and a spare you need three of the Kenda 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range C # AM30620.

These tires have a maximum capacity of 990 lbs when inflated to 90 psi, so as long as your trailer, when loaded, is 1,980 lbs or less (which is highly likely) you're all set! I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well.
