Convert a 2 inch Equalizer Weight Distribution System to a 2-1/2 inch System by Swapping Shanks

Question:

I have a 2 1/2inch reciever on my 10 Silverado currently using an adapter sleeve in order to use my 2inch shank in the reciever. I would like to replace the shank only to a 2 1/2inch and reuse my old hitch head. This unit looks like the vertical portion is 2....is this true? thx

I went out into our warehouse and measured the portion of the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4900 that you referenced and found that it is 2 inches wide and it will work on your Equalizer weight distribution system that you are currently using.

The only difference between the # EQ90-02-4900 and the Equalizer weight distribution shanks for 2 inch hitches is the size of the shank that fits into the hitch opening.

This shank should work well for you.
