Installing SKS Lock Core on Yakima HighLine Bike Rack
Question:
Hello, i purchased this replacement mast 8890343 from you a couple months ago and just now tried to add a lock core to the anti rattle knob. The yakima sks lock core will not fit in the knob. Do i need to dismantle the housing and adjust the seat for the core? Im at a loss. There is a section on the yakima lock instructions that talk about adjusting the moving parts behind the housing on some models but not sure on how to do this. Thanks,

You should not have to adjust any moving parts to install the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores # Y07202 to the Replacement Mast with Anti-Rattle Knob and Adapter Sleeve for Yakima HighLite Bike Racks # 8890343.
I took a look at the instructions for both, and my guess is that the issue you are having - which is very, very common - is the lock core is not aligned with the small hole as in the attached cut out of the directions.
I have attached a link to a video which shows some lock cores being installed for you.
