What Holds the Arms In Place on the RockyMounts WestSlope 3 Bike Rack While Folded Up
Question:
How do the arms that hold down the bikes stay in place when the rack is folded up and not carrying bikes? Seems like they would simply swing open as I dont see anything securing them?

The arms on the RockyMounts WestSlope 3 Bike Rack part # RKY10223 are held in place via friction. There would not be enough force for the arms to swing out while in the stowed position on the back of the vehicle even during travel. I did take a look through the reviews and none specifically stated they had issues with arms swinging out while in transit so I would not be worried. I did however see where there was another with the same concern but no report of an actual incident.
